CHARITABLE
RECYCLING STATION
Our Recycling Station is a drop off point for your hard to recycle items. We're diverting waste away from the incinerator and raising money for charity
Recycling for charity
The collected waste from many of the streams is packed up by volunteers and sent off to be broken down into plastic pellets and made into things like playground equipment, in return the charity of choice receives a donation.

How it works
- Bring your empty, sorted and flattened recyclable items to one of our pop up stations
- Place each type of packaging in the relevant bag or box
- Our volunteers will help you if you are not sure which bag it goes in
- We box up the waste into large batches which are sent for recycling
- Our nominated charities receive a donation of £1-2 for every kg of waste collected
- As of November 24 we have together raised over £580 for charity – that’s over 500 kg of packaging diverted from incineration!

PLEASE ENSURE NO TABLETS REMAIN. Please remove wrappings and small bags when depositing these as we cannot recycle these.
Blister packs are tricky to recycle because they are made of aluminium and plastic strongly glued together. Very specialised equipment is needed to do this and there are a handful of companies who have access to this.
We have experienced a high demand for this type of recycling so have paid for more than 10 postage paid collection boxes since 2020 from Refactory to enable us to offer the service. We now invite our supporters to make a donation towards our next box to enable us to continue recycling blister packs. It costs us £1 to recycle 1 litre of blister packs.
Please go to our Crowdfunder page at Wasteless Market Recycling - a Community crowdfunding project in Welling by Wasteless Market if you would like to support this.
Thank you for helping us keep plastic waste out of the incinerator.
