A quick recap
Since June last year we’ve been turning up all over the place with our mobile refills and wasteless essentials stall, with the generous assistance of CC Events and Dartford Council. From Ingress Park (where we met Len Goodman of Strictly Come Dancing) to Shrewsbury House, via Dartford Market, Thamesmead and Danson House, assisted by our wonderful team of cheerful and hardworking volunteers, we’ve experienced the hottest, coldest and wettest days of the year.
We were beyond excited to be offered the opportunity of a table in the Bexley Originals pop-up shop next door to M&S in Bexleyheath’s Broadway Shopping Centre, which opened at the end of January.
We love the concept of the Bexley Originals shop with its collaboration of local small businesses selling an intriguing and beautiful range of decorative and useful products, and are very happy to join the team.
The shop is open 7 days a week: 9-5:30 Monday – Saturday and 10-4 on Sundays. We will be on rota in the shop one day each week (currently Thursdays) plus two weekends each month. On the other days our colleagues in the shop will be happy to help you.
Charitable Recycling Events
We’ve teamed up with the Recycling team at Bexley Council to take our recycling station on the road as part of Bexley Eco Fest 2023. We’re diverting waste away from the incinerator and raising money for charity. Our amazing charities include: London Air Ambulance, Kent Air Ambulance, Pathfinder Dogs, Mind in Bexley, Against Breast Cancer.

Since beginning our medicinal blister pack recycling project, this has become our most popular type of recycling. So far we’ve sent 5 110 litre boxes full of blister packs to Refactory’s processing depot in Hull for recycling into stormboards which are used in construction, joinery and shopfitting for example. Refactory’s products are designed to be recycled.
Unlike our other recycling streams we have to pay the shipping cost of the boxes – so we have started a fundraising campaign to help pay for these. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we are three quarters of the way to paying for our next box – but we already have enough packets to fill it! if you would like to make a one off donation, monthly donation or even fundraise for us and help us to keep these items out of the incinerator and give them a new life.
We depend on our loyal customers to spread the word about what we do. Every bit of plastic saved is progress. Please forward this newsletter, share our posts on social media, and most importantly, tell your friends!
