Set of 4 Handmade Napkins - Herons
Cotton Napkins are a great way to reduce your household single-use paper products. They are ideal for daily use, special occasions or as a gift.
All Napkins are 40 x 40 cm square and have mitred, machine sewn edges to ensure they are robust for daily use and machine washing.
Napkins are machine washable, 40°C is recommended. The materials have all been washed and dried before I made the Napkins in order to reduce any possibility of fabric shrinkage. Napkins can be ironed at an appropriate setting for Cotton.
With care these Napkins should last for many years.
Sewing with leftovers, remnants, seconds and repurposed fabrics I aim to ensure no scrap is left behind. The tiniest scraps I have left are incorporated into quilts, used to tie parcels and attach labels. No two items are exactly alike but you can often see scraps of the same fabric incorporated into other products I make, using up every last piece. Cotton is a precious resource, whilst it has many positive properties, being biodegradeable and compostable, the crop needs a lot of water. This is why I am so committed to using fabric that might end up in landfill, there is often a great deal of useful life left in a textile.
